Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

This match offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
